The City of Chambly has joined the Embarque! Montérégie program, initiated by the Conseil régional de l’environnement de la Montérégie (Montérégie CRE), by providing residents with 26 parking spaces reserved exclusively for carpooling, in order to encourage sustainable mobility, as well as provide access to a host of facilitating tools.

These carpooling spaces are well marked and located in safe areas, near major arteries, in order to help residents adopt sustainable practices when travelling:

  • Parking lot on Brassard Boulevard, opposite Saint Pierre Street: 4 spaces;
  • Parking lot at Des Patriotes Park (corner of Anne-Le Seigneur Boulevard and Jean Casgrain Street): 8 spaces;
  • Parking lot at the Serge Caron Fire Station (1301 Fréchette Boulevard): 4 spaces;
  • Parking lot at Robert Lebel Sports Centre (995 Simard Avenue): 10 spaces.

Chambly is the first municipality in the region to provide parking spaces reserved for carpooling, as part of this program.

This new alternative improves the intermodal transport opportunities in the city. Indeed, carpooling complements the active transport system (bicycle paths, sidewalks) and contributes to the redesign of public transit services.

The goal of the Embarque! Montérégie program is to help residents in the region abandon solo driving and move towards more sustainable transportation methods. Financing for this project comes from the “Par notre PROPRE énergie” initiative, funded by the Green Fund.

An interactive map accessible at allows you to discover multiple options related to sustainable transportation, such as public transit, bicycle paths, bicycle stands, park-and-ride facilities for carpooling, charging stations and more. This tool also facilitates searching for carpooling partners by simultaneously viewing offers available on various well-known platforms.
