Work worth $600,000 will be completed in the fall of 2021, over a period of about ten weeks, to refurbish existing facilities. The project will be completed in accordance with requests and expectations submitted by residents, as expressed in the survey completed last August.
Interventions will be targeted at:
• reconstructing the paths to access the park and removing the paved path;
• adding park furniture such as picnic tables, benches and garbage bins;
• installing a low-profile and inconspicuous comfort station (toilet);
• completing the landscaping.
Rest stations will be maintained, as well as play areas, and access for people with mobility impairments will be improved.
To complete this work, the city will review its development concept to incorporate the targeted interventions, as well as develop plans and specifications to launch a call for tenders and complete the project. Work will begin after the contract is awarded.
