As part of this program, firefighters will check smoke detectors, portable fire extinguishers, heating systems, electrical systems and evacuation plans, as well as provide advice on preventing fires.

Please note that the Fire Department does not make any representations or solicitations to sell anything to residents.

Firefighters will carry out these visits from Monday to Saturday, from 9 am to 9 pm. They will be wearing their uniforms and will carry photo ID with the department logo.

FLUSHING OF THE WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM

From mid-April to mid-June, the City of Chambly will proceed with the annual flushing of the water supply system, Monday to Friday between 7 am and 4 pm. This annual operation is required to ensure the quality of drinking water, get rid of iron and rust particles and maintain the system in good working order.

The water is fit to drink.
You do not need to boil it.

Flushing of the water system can cause:

  • a slightly lower water pressure.
  • a reddish colour due to rust particles.

We recommend checking the water before using it.

  • if the water is rusty: turn on the cold water faucet and let the water run about 15 minutes until it clears up.
  • If you stain your fabrics: contact the City of Chambly Public Works and Urban Environment Department or the reception desk and they will provide you with a special stain remover that is easy to use and free of charge. Make sure you don’t let the clothes dry out before using this product.
